Georgia Tech Announces 2024 EVPR Institute Research Award Winners
Every year, Georgia Tech’s research enterprise celebrates the remarkable contributions of its extraordinary researchers. The Office of the Executive Vice President for Research (EVPR) presents peer-nominated awards to exceptional faculty and staff for their commitment to “Research That Matters” — achievements fueled by a profound mission to advance science and technology for the betterment of society.
“Each of the nominees represented an incredible breadth of talent, expertise, and commitment to Georgia Tech and its research excellence,” said Chaouki Abdallah, executive vice president for Research. “All of the nominees were deserving, and these award recipients highlight the vast talent and values that Georgia Tech attracts and nurtures.”
This year, nearly 100 exceptional researchers were nominated for accolades spanning nine distinct categories that range from breakthroughs in innovation to community engagement and outreach.
- Outstanding Achievement in Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Mary Frank Fox, Ivan Allen College, School of Public Policy
- Outstanding Achievement in Early Career Research: Lindsey Rose Bullinger, Ivan Allen College, School of Public Policy
- Outstanding Achievement in Research Enterprise Enhancement: Anton Bryksin, Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience (IBB)
- Outstanding Achievement in Research Innovation: Manos M. Tentzeris, College of Engineering, School of Electrical & Computer Engineering
- Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Advisor: Moinuddin Qureshi, College of Computing, School of Computer Science
- Outstanding Faculty Research Author: Feryal Özel, College of Sciences, School of Physics
- Outstanding Achievement in Research Engagement and Outreach: Shreyes N. Melkote, College of Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering
- Outstanding Achievement in Research Program Development: UNCAGE-ME EFRC—Ryan Lively, Krista S. Walton, David Sholl, Christopher W. Jones, Leslie Schlag, and Rochelle Moses, all from ChBE
- Outstanding Achievement in Research Program Impact: Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL)—Dimitri Mavris, Michelle R. Kirby, Elena Garcia, and Olivia J. Pinon Fischer, all from AE
The 2024 recipients join a prestigious list of award winners dating back to 1986.
The EVPR Institute Research Awards will be presented at the Faculty and Staff Honors Luncheon on Friday, April 26.
